the vibe

an afternoon-into-evening at hudson yards built around city views and food. take the c/e to 23 st and walk three blocks west to enter the high line, then walk north along nyc's elevated park and exit at 30th street into hudson yards (alice recommended the 34th st exit, but that ramp is closed for renovation; thehighline.org/visit has current closures). then rooftop drinks at electric lemon's 24th-floor terrace, a browse through hudson yards mall (aesop has free tea), nikkei dinner at papa san in the spiral, and brown sugar boba soft serve from xing fu tang to finish.

how to do this walk

late-afternoon start works best so you catch sunset from electric lemon's rooftop. take the c/e to 23 st-8 ave and walk three blocks west to the high line's 23rd street entry. walk north for about 15 minutes, photo stops welcome. exit at 30th street and walk east into hudson yards (alice originally recommended the 34th st exit, but that ramp is closed for renovation; check thehighline.org/visit for current closures). cross over to 33 hudson yards and ride up to electric lemon on the 24th floor of the equinox hotel for a cocktail (alice's tip: reserve outdoor lounge seats in advance, especially at sunset). browse hudson yards mall next, alice's pick is aesop on level 2 for free perfume samples and tea. cross 34th street to the spiral for dinner at papa san on the ground floor (alice's order: picanha steak donabe; book ahead, busy room). finish back inside the mall on level 2 for xing fu tang's brown sugar boba soft serve, takeaway and walk.
